Symptoms of Ovarian Cysts

There are five main types of cysts:-

  1. Functional cysts  that develop during the menstrual cycle and that usually disappear after release of the eggs.
  2. Endometriomas, which can be particularly painful and which develop either inside or outside of the uterus.
  3. Cystadenomas, which develop on the outside of the ovaries and if large are very painful.
  4. Dermoid cysts can cause pain if they are quite big.
  5. Polycystic Ovaries which are quite serious. They are filled with eggs that do not get released and they continue to grow.

The only way to be certain if you have ovarian cysts is to go to see your doctor.
