What Are Ovarian Cysts?
Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs that form in the ovary.
When Do Ovarian Cysts Occur?
They occur normally in all women prior to menopause and in 18 percent of women after menopause.
Discomfort and Symptoms
Symptoms of ovarian cystic disease include lower back pain, lower abdominal pain, nausea, pelvic pain. These pains are worse during intercourse.
Other symptoms include chronic pelvic pain, painful menstrual periods, vaginal bleeding between periods, heavy menstrual bleeding.
A woman with ovarian cystic disease has abnormally large, painful ovarian cysts.
Large ovarian cysts can cause lower abdominal pain, low back pain, and vaginal bleeding.
Other Health Risks Arising
Ovarian cyst disease can give rise to risk of contracting other disorders, including breast cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity and uterine cancer.
